About the Recipe

At the Wake'n'Bake Lounge, we pride ourselves on reimagining comfort food classics with a contemporary twist. By infusing this simple pasta dish with cannabis, we aim to elevate the familiar comfort it provides to a more nuanced, soothing experience. Here’s how we do it.

Ingredients

- 1 pound spaghetti

- 3 tablespoons cannabis-infused olive oil

- 1 onion, finely chopped

- 2 cloves garlic, minced

- 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage

- 1 (28-ounce) can crushed tomatoes

- 1 tablespoon tomato paste

- 1 teaspoon dried oregano

- 1 teaspoon dried basil

- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

- Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

- Fresh basil, chopped, for garnish

Preparation

1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.


2. While the pasta cooks, heat the cannabis-infused olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and sauté until translucent.


3. Add the ground beef or sausage to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.


4. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, and basil. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Simmer the sauce for 20-25 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.


5. Toss the cooked spaghetti with the sauce until evenly coated.


6. Serve the infused spaghetti hot, sprinkled with grated Parmesan and garnished with fresh basil.
