There are only 2 ways to grow cannabis:
Indoors
Outdoors
Choosing the right methods for you is going to vary by your climate temperature zone and your local laws.
Please make sure the laws in your city/state allow for cannabis cultivation before choosing one of these environments for growing.
The Power...Is Yours!
Controlling your environment

When it comes to cannabis, if you are growing indoors then you will have the most control over your environment. For some, growing indoors provides a higher quality of cannabis do to this factor. When growing indoors, the plants rely on you fully for light, nutrients, water, space and training. You have to be able to get your plants everything they need to live a full, healthy and productive life. For top quality cannabis, you will want to pay close attention to your plants behaviors and give them what they need when they need it.
If you are growing cannabis outside then you will have a little bit less control over your plants. While you will still have to manage your plants with care like indoor plants, but you will need to work almost twice as hard due to the growing elements you can't control. Things like the intensity of the natural sunlight, wind, bugs, and soil nutrients are going to be a little more difficult to control so you will need to be more vigilant about carefully watching your plants to provide them a long, healthy, and productive life.
The one thing that is common for both methods is light and space. You will need to make sure your plants have plenty of both. Cannabis likes a lot of light but too much can negatively impact it. They need the light to photosynthesize the nutrients it uptakes to convert it to all the good stuff like terpenes, CBD or THC. Having enough space allows the plant to develop healthy roots under the soil surface and allowing for good vegetative and bud growth above the soil's surface.
That is why choosing the correct grow space is so important. Security on your medicine is also one of the main reasons we prefer indoor growing. But most importantly, for us at least, more space means more buds and more buds means more medicine and less money we spend at the local dispensary. Properly spacing your plants will allow them to be trained (yes, you can train plants) well, giving you the most quality and quantity possible from your seed.
