Our Story

The story goes that when the entire world flooded, only Noah’s Ark sustained life. In the world’s greatest emergency, reliability on that one ark became paramount. Generark aims to be your ark, ensuring that, in any emergency, you and your community can stay composed, charged, and powered. With the threat of climate change only growing, we will not only face more obstacles, but also all the power outages and disruptions that come along with them.

With the uncertainty of climate change seemingly here to stay, more and more disasters will only continue to occur, leaving us all prone to facing more emergency situations.

Living in the San Francisco Bay Area, our founder has personally experienced many power outages as a result of the numerous natural disasters that afflict California. In 2019, California wildfires caused a four day power outage for his family. With a six-month old baby at home, he experienced first-hand the stress of not being able to store or prepare foods to feed his child when the power was out. Many of the people he knows had to face the emergency from just the shelter of their cars or public group shelters because their homes and belongings had completely burned down.

From wildfires to earthquakes and hurricanes, our founder is just one of the millions of people across the country who has experienced the feelings of shock and uncertainty that come in the wake of a natural disaster. With the uncertainty of climate change seemingly here to stay, these types of disasters will only continue to occur, leaving us all prone to facing more emergency situations.
